Tackling Unfinished Jobs In Lockdown
Rather than look at the negatives of having our freedom curtailed make the most of all the time in your house and garden to get through the unfinished jobs. We all have plenty that needs to be done in our house. Normally we would be putting them off as we make excuses about being too busy. But if you have been furloughed and you are not juggling home-schooling now is your chance. When will you have time like this again?
Better For Mental Health
It will give you such a sense of satisfaction ticking through all your unfinished jobs. Otherwise free time sees you head onto social media and get depressed by the news. Stay safe in your little bubble making your house look lovely. We need to keep our brains occupied productively rather than dwell on the unknown. My father in law is keeping sane by ticking of all his outstanding jobs, he hates to sit still and be bored. In his mid-70’s he is quite an inspiration, he certainly has more energy than me!
Being distracted by all the jobs your doing will make the time pass in a whirl of activity. Do something positive with your time in lockdown.
Get Equipped Up
If you need some equipment you can still buy High Quality Electrical Goods online. I have seen a few items that would give me a helping hand. The car vacuum cleaner would get my car looking all clean and tidy. Currently it is in an awful state from when I last collected wood for our log burner, the boot needs a good vacuum through! I know my wife would be delighted if I did that instead of hiding in my gaming room!
Save Money
If you need the motivation to get cracking think about the money you will save! By taking matters into your own hand those DIY jobs you are doing could save £1,000. Just what you need when money is a little harder to come by than usual. If you used to hire a cleaner or gardener before lockdown using your free time means you can do those jobs yourself.
Start Small
If you cannot get hold of everything you need or you lack certain skills even starting small will feel like a step in the right direction, Clean the fridge or rearrange your kitchen cupboard contents (hopefully freeing up more space if you have bought extra food!) and don’t forget the kitchen oven! That is one job I am forever putting off. Other things you could consider doing are defrosting the freezer or descaling your kettle! Maybe take to social media and share some of the products that help you clean! Who knows you might be the next Mrs or Mr Hinch!
See What You Have
Like I said you might not think you have what you need to do a job, if that is the case do not give up straight away see what alternatives you can use! Some household staples are good to help with unfinished jobs in lockdown. Vinegar and water make a good mild all purpose cleaner. If you have lemons in your house, they are good at getting rid of stubborn stains on your kitchen counters and lemons can even remove ingrained soap scum from your bath!
