Super stylish interior design tips for modern homes

Modern homes are homes that combine style with functionality and a sense of family. However, the trouble with modern homes is that it can be hard to figure out what interior design trend is going to work best for you. To help you to find super stylish interior design tips that are going to work for your modern home, we have put together some different modern interior design tips that you can try out for yourself in your home.

bold piece of furniture

Modern home styles are all about making an impact and being super stylish and well designed. One easy way to do this is by choosing a bold piece of furniture. Bold furniture is not only great to create a focal point in your room. But it is also a great way to add style and colour too. This is why a leather tub chair is perfect for a modern home. Not only is it a fantastic way to add style into your home, but they are ideal to create a nook too. The perfect space for you to relax and unwind in.

Velvet

Velvet may seem like a pretty old fashioned fabric. But it has definitely seen a resurgence of late so I am happy to add it to my interior design tips. It is showing up in curtains, in throws, even in sofas and other pieces of furniture. Velvet is not only great to look at, but it is great to touch too. This is why it works really well when you want to create a cosy space in your home. Another great thing about velvet is that it comes in a variety of different colours. This means that you are going to find the ideal addition to your home.

Dark woods

For a long time now Scandinavian woods have been popular in homes. However, things have made a bit of a shift towards the dark side. Pale and bleached woods are a thing of the past and now people are opting for darker woods that are dramatic and bold. The great thing about darker woods, is that they work with a number of interior design styles. We particularly like how they work with blues, green and neutral shades too. Without it clashing.

Neutral with a splash of colour

Neutral tones have become incredibly popular in many homes. However, people may worry that neutral shades are simply not interesting enough for their home. Neutral shades can be brought to life, simply by adding a splash of colour. Yellows and blues are shades that work particularly well against neutral shades. These will bring the room to life and make sure that your neutral colour scheme is anything but boring.

Global inspiration

We all wish that we could travel the world and see everything that it has to offer. For some, this is possible, but for others this might not happen. However, despite not being able to travel the world, you can still bring a touch of the globe to your home. You can do this by choosing fabrics that boast bold and beautiful prints that are going to add a sense of texture and style to your room. Earthy and rich colours are also a popular choice, and these work really well against a neutral colour scheme.

Go tropical

Following on from the above, another great way to bring a touch of the world to your home is with the print that you go for. Tropical prints might be a bold and in your face choice, however, we think that they work really well in modern homes. Particularly in spaces such as your bathroom. You can combine a leaf print with rich green tones, both of which come together to create a bold, colourful and refreshing feeling that you will love to spend time in.

As you can see, when you create a modern home, there are plenty of different interior design styles that you can choose from. The trick is to find one that works not only in your home, but also that is right for you. That way you can take great pride in your home and how it looks.

Just what you want from your home.
