With only a handful of weeks left until Christmas it is important that I save money as much as possible.

For me this means not only cutting back on daily spends (yes the wife has me back on packed lunches again!). But being more savvy with all purchase decisions. Luckily we have numerous online avenues we can embark on to save money. As you all know me well enough by now that the bulk of my shopping is done online.

So here is a quick up to date guide on how I plan to save money:

Auctions

Online auctions have become far more sophisticated as the years have gone by, there are often some really great bargains to be had if you are willing to spend sometime checking first. Not to be put off either by second hand goods, I have found that you can in fact find brand new products at really cut back rates. Unwanted gifts are often listed that can make bargain presents!

Voucher Sites

I rarely purchase online these days without using some form of voucher code. However in more recent months I stick to only a few of the most popular sites. Mainly due to some websites reporting as spam or having ineffective/out of date codes that do not work. It can be tricky to find codes that do save you money, but it is still worth that couple of minutes checking prior to placing your order in case a decent saving can be made.

Cashback Site

If I cannot find a deal on the auctions or a discount voucher then my final plan of attack to save money is cashback sites. I only use one, but that is mainly due to habit. I have found in the past some items do not track and I don’t always get my cashback. However using it for a select few established websites helps to mitigate issues. One thing is for sure you cannot count on the cashback to save money,
