Week 33 Of 2020: Rowing to fitness!
This week seems to have past me by in one big blur! I simply cannot believe I am writing my next weekly roundup already!
Hospital

This week I had to take Karen to the hospital for a routine appointment, it was the first time we have gone privately. This was only down to the fact that the waiting list is over 18 months on the NHS due to COVID-19. The whole process seemed to go smoothly. The boys came along for the road trip too and kept me company while she was in her appointment.
After driving back we had a well earned takeaway. It’s the first week our local Chinese takeaway was open. I had been having cravings for salt and pepper chicken for a good while now!
Clay Painting

On Saturday we booked the boys to do some clay painting. We went a few years back and they really enjoyed it, they love getting creative. Both me and Karen had a go too, we decided to both paint a little Nordic Santa’s. They booked tables out rather than individual slots, this was to ensure social distancing while painting, it was great to see they had put some thought into the process. The even spray down all the paint bottles before the next use.
With a 2-hour slot booked there was plenty of time for us to complete our mini projects, youngest on the other hand, picked a massive monster truck money box. He did get it finished just in time!
After our session we found a lovely pub to have a family meal out. They had some fun outside COVID-19 sections. Each with their own table and shed like fencing around. With a water proof roof and plenty of greenery (not the fake ivy in the picture!) It was a fantastic meal in a fantastic place!

Rowing Machine
Last week I ordered a rowing machine from amazon to solve my fitness issue. I wasn’t expecting it to arrive this week as it clearly said next Friday! But it came within 24 hours. I did a load of research into the best rower and decided that a magnetic resistance would be the best. After all they are the quietest out of the three main styles.
I went for the reasonably priced JLL R200+, there where others on the market that are a little more pricey but the reviews for this seemed to paint a better picture.
So as of writing I have done two 30-minute sessions. The first of which I covered 4.49km and the second 4.77km. Burning just over 200 calories each time. With an aim to start shifting some of my extra weight and get some core fitness! Perhaps I need to stop eating out and focus more on the fitness? Small steps that’s what I say!
Track of the week
This week is one of the awesome songs by Sia, Unstoppable. Sia always seems to get it right with her songs. I usually love Sia’s music videos too but for this song I have found another! Leon: The professional is a fantastic film. Clipped together to create a music video that more than rivals the original creation!

Good luck with the rowing machine – I think going for the quieter version is probably a good idea. Love the nordic santas.
The weeks certainly do seem to be flying over.
I’m glad the hospital visit went OK. It sounds like you deserved the takeaway.
The clay painting sounds like a lot of fun.
That was fast delivery from Amazon. Good luck with the rowing. x
I wish we had space for a rowing machine, although I’ve had equipment in the past and not used them much. Glad the hospital appt as all sorted. Covid has a lo to answer to with all h delays

I’m really craving a chinese, our normal one has been crazy busy since it reopened a couple of weeks ago and one we’d tried a couple of months ago make a very strange Kung Po! Love the clay painting activity and good to know their safety measures are stringent #366
It sounds like a nice week with some ‘reality’ of getting out and doing things. Good luck with the rowing machine! I loved the film Leon back in the day. I would love to watch it again.
Glad all went well with the hospital visit. I want salt and pepper chicken now after reading about your takeaway! Love the painted gnome. Good luck with the rowing machine. #project366
hope the hospital appointment went well, there was a painted Gromit at the hospital where I went for a private covid test. Love painting pottery, not done it for years though, have to wait till our grandchild gets a bit older.

Hope the hospital appointment went well. Love clay painting we normally do it at Christmas time I am wondering if we should book in super early this year… The rowing machine sounds good be interested to know how you get on. We could do with something to help with fitness levels here too.
The Nordic Santa looks amazing! It’s good that you took Karen to a private clinic. Cute professional cow. OoOO chinese! The pub looks great and the food looks delicious. I haven’t seen this movie but I love Sia’s songs
Nordic Santa’s are my favourite, I have started collecting them since our visit to Lapland. Hope Karen gets seen quickly now you have gone private
