Improve Kerb Appeal 

When preparing to sell your home, boosting the kerb appeal is a great way to increase the value and also attract potential buyers. So, if your front door or fence is looking a bit worse for ware. Perhaps replace or repair them to tidy things up. If budget allows, you could transform the driveway or re-clad the building. But manicuring the front garden might be a more affordable way to make the space more presentable.

Upgrade Your Kitchen/Bathrooms 

The kitchen and bathrooms in a property can quickly become outdated, so renovating them would be a great way to increase your home’s value. You don’t have to completely replace everything; a fresh coat of paint works wonders, but if you have the money, it will certainly be worth the investment to give your kitchen and/or bathroom a complete overhaul.

Change the Flooring

Lino tiles and patterned carpets aren’t particularly desirable to buyers nowadays, so replacing them with something more modern is a fairly quick and easy way to increase the property value. Carpets are cosy in the bedrooms, and natural stone is great in the kitchen as it can last a very long time and adds an element of character.

Improve Energy Efficiency 

Before selling, your home will be checked for its energy efficiency and given an EPC rating. The better the EPC, the higher your property will be valued. With that said, try and improve energy efficiency by ensure you have adequate loft insulation and swapping your bulbs for LEDs. If you only have single glazed windows, it might be worth replacing them with double or even triple glazing.

These are just a few ideas to get you started; there are plenty more that you can consider depending on your budget. You could think about a loft conversion or an extension, or just a fresh coat of paint throughout.
