Week 30 of 2020: Seaside Trip and Plenty of Food
2020 seems to be blasting away. I really cannot believe we are at week 30 already! I had planned to start writing a weekly update way back at week 1! So here we are my week 30 round up!
Seaside trip

We decided with the travel restrictions lifting it was time to head to the beach with the boys. The weather was excellent at the start of the week so they both enjoyed a bit of a paddle, while the wife had a swim! I stayed happily on shore creating a lovely piece of art work. The beach turkey!
After our beach trip we ventured into Llandudno meeting up with a fellow blogger over at Sim’s Life. Its always great to put a face to a blog! Our children really hit it off which was fantastic and meant we could have proper conversation!
Painting

Last week was horrendous, we had water leaking into the house. So on a recommendation of a builder I had to paint the outside of the house with water proofer. In the attempt to keep the house dry!
It was easy to paint it on to be fair. We did have the house sprayed before when it was rendered. However painting it on with a paint brush seems to coat it better. This is definitely a job you should be able to DIY. As long as you have someone trustworthy to hold the ladder! The wife did an excellent job of this!
Fishing

It has been a while since we managed to go fishing. We were planning to wait until we could go with Grandad again, but he is still shielding. So we took advantage to get some practice in, as he always seems to catch more than us!
We didn’t all have rods, so we hire some which was actually very cheap! Eldest caught a fish within minutes of being set up! I managed to get two, but the winner of the day was youngest who managed 15! I don’t think we have got a total of 15 between the four of us fishing before. The time absolutely flew by!
Food
We had quite a “bad” week with food! I managed to sneak in two takeaways and a meal out! Which started with a big double cheeseburger, chips, mac and cheese and garlic bread. And finished with chips and homemade chicken curry! To top that off we even managed to have pudding out too, with a lovely waffle and ice cream! Not to mention the two cheeky trips to the ice cream parlour!
Track of the week
I have a plan to have a song of the week. One that I have had on repeat through YouTube. Often I play music when I am cooking. I think having a little dance makes the food more flavourful. Well at least I would have burnt off some calories anyway!
So this week its, AWOLNATION – The Best!

This year is flying over! It will be Christmas before we know it. lol
That food looks amazing especially the burgers.
It is nice to get to the beach. We haven’t visited one for ages, our nearest one is a bit of a trek.
I hope the waterproof paint helps. x
Love Llandudno..we went a few years back. Hope to go again one day.
The artwork on the beach is fab!
Those burgers and flatbreads (garlic bread?) look delicious. How lovely to get to the beach. I’ve just showed the turkey/peacock design to my younger son, and he wants to do the same next time we’re on the beach in Cornwall (some time in August), as we’re pretty much in-land.
Good luck with the waterproofing project!
I listen to music and dance around when I’m cooking too. Nice to be able to meet up with other bloggers. I’ve not managed it this year sadly.
It sounds like a lovely week and I’m very impressed by your beach artwork. 15 fish is an incredible number to catch! I hope painting the house did the job. How lovely to meet up with Sim. It’s far too long since I’ve caught up with any blogging friends.
I like a radio on when I am in the kitchen as well, relieves the tedium, though I d like cooking and baking.
The beach turkey is brilliant, very artistic, hope it was above the tide line so it could be enjoyed by other people.
It’s crazy to think we are 30 weeks through the year and now in August! I love your beach turkey artwork. Glad you enjoyed meeting up with Sim. Hope that the water proofer does the trick. Well done to your youngest on his fishing haul. I love playing music when I’m cooking too. #project366
I love that beach turkey, very cleverly done!! 15 fish is impressive, Sebby is desperate for me to take him fishing but I don’t know where to start
It seems the perfect time to be getting DIY work done around the house. I must say the ladder holding isn’t a favourite activity of mine. Some lovely meals eaten this week and how great to meet up with Simslife.
I hope that sealant works for you, it’s nevber great when rain is pouring through! It was so fabulous to meet up with you all and super glad the kids got on, it meant we could all relax and enjoy the amazing weather we were gifted! Llandudno really is awesome when the sun shines!
What a gorgeous peacock – that must have taken you ages! What a lovely find for people walking by though! Hope you are all having the best week! Sim 🙂
PS. It’s the summer holidays, you are allowed takeaway and waffle treats! 🙂
Food looks fantastic. We hope to eat out next week for the first time in months and I hope it lives up to expectations! Love the beach art: peacock or turkey?! #project366
The food above is so tempting! The beach turkey looks great. I hope the trip was fun. Woah, 15 fish?! Cool idea about making the food more flavourful. Cool song
Wow look at that burger! My eldest has just started to get into fishing although so far we have only tried sea fishing. Love the sand and pebble art.
It’s good to get back to normality and do some of those things like eating out and meeting up. The coating of the outside of the house will have been a big job to do – hope it does the trick. I do like the beach turkey – very creative.
