I love my cars which is something the boys have picked up on. One of our favourites are Lamborghini’s, eldest even has a poster of the Huracan EVO model proudly placed on his wall.
I love their tag line – Every Day Amplified which I found when browsing the official website day dreaming of course! The Huracan EVO boasts an uprated V10 engine, with rear-wheel steering and torque vectoring. Add into that the new chassis technology and magnetic dampers. Lamborghini are clearly getting all aspects of the car working well together to increase the enjoyability of the ride! The car seems to anticipate your every move in some form of symbiotic relationship!
Here are some of the facts and figures that me and my boys love looking at!
- Power640 CV (470 kW) @ 8.000 rpm
- Torque600 Nm (443 lb.-ft.) @ 6.500 rpm
- Weight to power Ratio2.22 kg/CV (4.89 lb/CV)
- Top Speed >325 (mph > 201)
- Acceleration 0-100 KM/H (MPH 0-62)sec 2.9
- Acceleration 0-200 KM/H (MPH 0-124)sec 9.0
- Braking 100-0 KM/H (MPH 62-0)m 31.9
With the EVO they have kept the iconic look while still managing to create improvements with aerodynamic design. With a fresh colour palette, you can really make yours truly bespoke. I particularly enjoy the Arancio Xanto which is a gorgeous shade of orange.
Moving on to the interior of the vehicle reveals a cutting-edge 8.4” touchscreen built into the central tunnel allowing you to control everything with a quick tap you’re your fingers. When it comes to the upholstery you are greeted with a choice from leather, Alcantara and for the first time Carbon Skin® which is an innovation in itself.
I have to say with so much choice at ordering stage, once you receive your brand spanking new vehicle what more do you need?
Now as I have said I love the EVO, but I do feel the overall look is missing something. And that is at the rear! It looks a little lacklustre! But there is a solution. Take it to the professionals to get a Novitec rear wing installed. Not only does the wing look as good as it has been factory fitted. It actually increases rear axle downforce! Which in turn allows for faster cornering, due to the additional aerodynamic forces on the vehicle.
Another recommended option is to fit a Capristo sport exhaust, rather than adding anything aesthetically it really gives your Lamborghini a roar!
One way to get the best out of your car and really let rip is to book yourself a day at a race track! Costing between £85 – £200 depending when and where you want to take your car. A typical track day will start with a safety briefing. Make sure you fully understand them and the procedure for overtaking. If like me you are yet to be at the stage in your life when you can spend on a Lamborghini you can get some great deals on track days, you can pick your vehicle of choice and have up to an hour out on the track. I think this is definitely something I should be ticking off the list this year!
