So it is very important you stay one step ahead of the crowd! After all helping your pocket is always a good thing right? I never make a purchase before checking for online discounts. Why pay more when you don’t have too.

Its still important to think about these options before committing to your online purchase. There are a few different types of online discounts you can benefit from.

Voucher codes

This has always been my favourite method of discount, as you get an instant result. No waiting around for cash to come back to you! Shopping around different websites can become a chore so it is always worth while bookmarking the sites that bear fruit!

Cashback

When I cannot find a discount (by now I know the retailers off hand!) I will always head to my trusted cashback website, there are a few about so the choice is yours. The only issue with cashback websites is the amount of time it takes to payout. And on the rare occasion I have had a retailer pull out of the deal and end up with no discount. So you have to be very careful when making your purchase in this way!

Direct bartering

This one is really for the more cheeky of us out there. Its not one for me in person but over email it can prove to be quite useful. See a product you like online but fail to find a discount voucher or cashback website. Pop an email over to customer service and see if they have any discretionary discounts. After all if you do not ask you do not get!
