Now I am doing much more DIY around the house I think its only right I invest in some proper tools for the job! Currently, I am using my father in-law’s rusty castoffs that he no longer uses. I guess they are better than nothing. But I do think I would do a better job with the right equipment.

I was looking at the power tool batteries on the Milwaukee Tool website. My drill is always running out of power at a key moment. Then my wife despairs when I wait for what feels like forever for it to recharge! I think I need a battery that is up to the task. I have been working on the master bedroom, the wife is chomping at the bit to get in there. But it’s a job that seems to be taking a lot longer than planned.

Usually she complains when I attempt to spend money on tools but in all fairness if it speeds up the job she might be more lenient right now! It might be a good idea to show her my DIY essentials wish list and place an order.

Nail Gun

This would mean I could do the skirting myself, instead of getting the builder to do it just because I don’t have the correct equipment. It’s worth me getting what I need because with time I would get more skilled at the job.
I want as many cordless tools as possible as wires just get in the way of my progress.

Toolbox

Amazingly you can get a fully loaded toolbox for £80 odd pounds with 199 tools. I can’t get over the value of that set. You can spend less, but they include fewer tools and might not be quite so sturdy. Surely the wife wouldn’t complain at that price. It would be so handy having all the tools I need stored safely. Instead of in the cardboard box I have currently! You can even keep the toolbox locked up! Just in case the wife gets any ideas to take the DIY into her own hands! She did once, and it was disastrous.

Cat’s Paw

This multipurpose tool is a must! You can pry nails out and use it as a hammer if needed. Dual function tools are useful to have in your tool belt. Let’s be honest you can only carry so many things, you want to make them count!
