After my recent bargain buy from steam of Sanctum 2 for
£2.74 (A recommendation from my cousin) I thought I would check out what games
are due to be released, one that has
been popping up and has some eye catching graphics is Star Wars: Battlefront.
I am a bit nervous my laptop might die under the sheer
weight of the game! The minimum specs are:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
- Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
- Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB
With my laptop just scraping through I have however decided
to give the beta a go quite handily it lands tomorrow 8th October
The multiplayer promises several different modes of play to
keep a wide variety of players keen to keep gaming, servers sizes can vary from
8 slots to immense 40 slots battles! Heres some in game footage from EA:
You also have access to Base Command which
you can play in your browser or on your mobile (a free app download). It is a
standalone game but you can play it as a companion game where you can earn
credits to spend in Star Wars: Battlefront.
The basis of Base Command is a turn based casual card-driven
game, your aim Is to simply defend you base from an onslaught!
It is quite basic but if you can earn perks for use in the
full game then it might tick the boxes when chomping down your lunch! (Lets face it who doesn’t like free perks!)
Back to Battlefront and I hope they have focused on the play-ability aspect, something that I haven’t seen in a FPS since my days in
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a decent game with great play-ability!
We should expect great things from this game and I hope we aren’t
disappointed – I will give you an update when I have a chance to check out the
