Giving your house a makeover

Giving your home a makeover or face lift? Want to keep the prices down? It is possible to do both of these things at the same time.

When looking for new ways to modify or change your home up a bit, without spending too much of your hard earned cash when doing so, consider some of these tips during the makeover phase.

Go Vintage

Go with vintage linens, furniture, or older style, for a much lower price tag. Vintage stores, both locally and online, typically sell used and second hand items; and these items have a dated unique, look style to them. So, give your home that distinct look and vibe, without paying too much for it when redecorating.

Go DIY

Doing the work yourself is a simple way to save as well. From painting, to building furniture, to working on a storage shelf for your books, you can generally find DIY kits, or furniture which you can put together on your own. Far cheaper than hiring a specialist, and you really get to put your own unique twist on things, when doing the work yourself. But on the other hand something might not be safe to do on your own. For example moving a plug socket. It would be best to hire an electrician to complete this job.

Use Mirrors

Not only does this give the illusion of more space, it is also a cheap fix for a room. Have a dent in the wall, a spot you can't cover up with paint, or area of space you aren't sure what to do with? Mirrors will cover them up. You have unique shapes, different sizes, finishes, and looks to choose from, so make the most out of them, and look for the distinct, different, and unique, when adding them to the home. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg when redecorating. If you need to keep the cost down, and need to make a drastic change to any space, these are a few pointers to keep in mind when redecorating a room or home.
